Last Minute Interactive Christmas Card

Hello crafty friends,

We all have come across a time when we need a last minute card for so many occasions. With just 1 day until christmas, I am sure we have one last card for a distant relative or a friend.

I have a very fun and colorful card for you guys which not just has so much texture, depth and dimension, but is also an interactive card perfect for Christmas/holidays. This was a very quick and easy project and perfect for beginner crafters.

Here’s a look at the card I created –

I used the Made By Elves 3D Decoupage Sheet by Craft Consortium as the main focal point for my card. I separated the different layers on this sheet and layered them over each other using some thick foam squares.

For my background, I used this patterned paper with the candy cane design. This is also from the Made by Elves line by Craft consortium.

To create the interactive easel, I first took a card panel measuring 4 1/4 by 11 “. I scored it at the center at 5 1/2 ” to create a standard A2 size top folding note card. I then scored at 1 1/2″ from the bottom to create my easel.

Then I cut the candy cane background to match the fold line on my card base and stuck the patterned paper using liquid glue.

Then I added glue to the lower part of the dimensional focal point right below the fold line.

I heat embossed the “Happy Holidays” sentiment from the Peaceful Trees Stamp Set using white embossing powder on a scrap piece of black cardstock and adhered on top of my focal point.

I then added a thin strip of black cardstock on the inside of the card. This will be the stopper for my easel.

Here’s a closer look at the finished card. I love how this turned out and how easy this was to create.
