Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to a delightful and relaxing watercoloring session! Today, I’m excited to share how I bring a cute little honeybee to life using the Happy Bee Day stamp set, part of the latest Rain or Shine release by Simon Says Stamp. I’ll be using the beautiful Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers to add vibrant color and charm to this adorable bee. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced watercolor artist, this process is sure to inspire your next crafting project. So sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the magic unfold as I create this sweet little bee!

For today’s project, I started by stamping the adorable bee from the Happy Bee Day Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. To give the stamped image a bit of texture and shine, I applied SSS Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it. The raised, glossy effect from the embossing really makes the image stand out and adds a lovely touch to the final design.

Next, it was time to bring the little bee to life with color. For the bee’s body, I reached for my Altenew Watercolor Brush Pens, starting with oranges and yellows to create a warm, vibrant look. For the wings, I chose a beautiful mix of blues and purples, giving them a soft, ethereal feel. To frame the bee, I added a wash of bright blue around the focal point, which really helped the image pop off the page and added a sense of depth.

For the sentiment, I decided to go bold with black. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock using white embossing powder, which created a striking contrast against the bright colors of the card. The black strip really draws your eye to the message and complements the vibrant tones of the watercoloring.

To finish off the card, I used a black gel pen to add some fun, starry highlights and random dots to mimic watercolor splatters. It added a playful touch and gave the card a bit more texture and interest.

I absolutely love how this card turned out! The combination of bold, bright colors and the glossy embossed bee makes it feel lively and cheerful—perfect for sending a little sunshine to someone special.
