Hello crafty friends,
I had so much fun creating a cheerful and colorful card for a special friend, featuring playful patterns, layered dies, a bold sentiment, and a gorgeous floral die cut. This card was created for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #617—a bi-weekly challenge that always sparks creativity with its unique themes. This week’s challenge is all about color, and the palette is a dreamy combination of Lavender and Sage. I hope my project inspires you to join in the fun—don’t forget to share your creations on the CIC Instagram page. We’d love to see what you make!
Let’s take a close look at the card that I created for this challenge.

To kick off this card, I started with a stunning floral background using the Mosaic Petals Stencils from the new You Are My Favorite release by Simon Says Stamp. This 5-layered stencil set is perfect for experimenting with a range of color combinations, and I chose a soft, elegant palette featuring Lavender and Sage—specifically Orchid, Amethyst, Aspen, and Sage from the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink collection.
Since the background was full of rich detail, I wanted my sentiment and focal point to stand out without overwhelming the design. I used the Petal-Tipped Labels Die to create a die-cut backing, providing the perfect base to ground the sentiment.
The sentiment itself comes from the Mod Plants stamp set, and I paired it with a small, charming floral arrangement to tie everything together. For a final touch of sparkle, I added a few Metallic Tones Dazzling Gems by SSS, which brought just the right amount of shine to complete the look.
I’m so happy with how both of these cards came together! The design is super versatile—you can easily personalize it with your favorite color palette and use it for all sorts of occasions. I hope this inspires you to get creative and make a few sets of your own.
