Hello, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a clean and simple graduation card design that proves less really can be more. With an almost monochromatic color palette, this card gives off an elegant and timeless vibe—perfect for celebrating such a special milestone. I added just a hint of sparkle to the tassels for a subtle touch of flair that catches the light beautifully. Whether you’re crafting for a graduate or simply love minimalist designs, this project is all about understated sophistication.

To create this clean and elegant graduation card, I started by die-cutting the main focal point: the graduation hat. I used the Grad Hat Die Set by Simon Says Stamp, which includes both a base layer and a detailed top layer. For the base, I chose classic white cardstock, while the details were cut from some playful patterned paper from Your Paper Insider, adding a subtle touch of interest.

The tassel really steals the show—it’s cut from a super sparkly paper (also from Your Paper Insider), adding just the right amount of shimmer to the otherwise minimal design.

For the background, I went with a soft light gray cardstock, which offers a lovely contrast to the bright white and colorful details. I cut this panel using a Spellbinders nesting die, which gave me a wider border and helped frame the design beautifully on the card front.
Before adhering the focal image, I added a bit of extra texture by randomly stamping the little confetti images from the Hats Off Grad stamp set across the gray panel. I then stamped the main sentiment, “Congrats, Grad,” along with a coordinating sub-sentiment from the same set.

Using foam tape for dimension, I popped up the graduation hat and adhered the finished panel onto a standard A2 card base.
I love how this card turned out—simple, yet sophisticated, with just a touch of sparkle. It’s a perfect design for celebrating graduation in a modern, elegant way!
