A Sweet Card for Bird Lovers

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m excited to share a sweet little project inspired by the current Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #622, where the theme is “For the Birds.” I absolutely loved creating this cheerful and whimsical bird-themed card using some of my favorite supplies. If you enjoy working with adorable die-cuts, soft textures, and playful ink blends, then this project is sure to bring a smile to your face!

To bring this feathered idea to life, I used the Tweet Birds Die by Kat Scrappiness—a must-have for any bird lover! These dies are packed with charm and character. I cut all the sweet little birdies and accessories using patterned papers from Your Paper Insider, which gave the project a lovely mix of subtle prints and soft colors.

To add extra dimension and variation, I reached for my Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks, blending shades like Pucker, Surf, Charcoal, Cherry, Woodsy, Citrine, and Pine to create a beautiful gradient effect on the birds and their wings. The result was a delightful medley of hues that brought these little characters to life.

For the background, I wanted something soft yet textured. The Dainty Dotted Daisy Embossing Folder from the new Friend Like You release by Simon Says Stamp worked perfectly! It added a delicate floral touch without overwhelming the main scene.

To ground the birds and give them a place to perch, I used the Petal Tipped Label Die, creating a little “platform” for them. I added soft clouds in the background using the Cloud Lines Stencil by SSS and blended it with Seafoam ink to keep everything light and airy.
