A Fresh Color Combo with the Sizzix Flower Power Rotating Stencil

Today I’m sharing a card that was such a joy to create! I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try a brand-new color combination—blue and orange. It’s not a pair I’ve ever reached for before, but the results were bold, vibrant, and surprisingly elegant. To bring this idea to life, I used the stunning Flower Power Rotating Stencil by Sizzix.

I started by aligning the stencil’s notches with my stamping platform to ensure a perfect rotation. Normally, I’d pair orange with my go-to pink, but this time I wanted to push myself creatively. I reached for a rich royal blue to complete the outer petals—and I’m so glad I did! The contrast between the warm orange and the cool blue made the design pop beautifully.

To finish the card, I added a “happy birthday” sentiment from the Up and Away Stamp Set. A few fun embellishments in the flower centers added sparkle and extra dimension, tying the whole design together with playful detail.

This project reminded me how exciting it can be to explore new color palettes.
