Today I’m excited to share a fun and easy card-making project using the Highland Cows stamp set from the latest STAMPtember® release. I created three clean and simple card designs that are perfect for birthdays, thank-you notes, or just sending a thoughtful message. These cards showcase how you can create stunning designs using minimal supplies and a few clever techniques.

For the first card, I stamped the main sentiment in Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink, adding a small sub-sentiment for a playful touch: “I herd it’s your birthday.” The focal image is a large Highland cow stamped in Mocha Positively Saturated Ink, left uncolored for a rustic, clean look. To finish, I added small stars from the stamp set in red to frame the sentiment and balance the composition.

The second card follows a similar layout but with a slight variation. I stamped two cows facing each other in Mocha ink to create a different focal point. For the sentiment, I layered “Thank you” and “Friend” using black and red inks. Masking with a Post-it note helped me achieve precise placement. I also added a few stars in black and red to complement the sentiment and create visual balance.

For the third card, I switched the focal point to a tiny Highland calf stamped in the center. Instead of using the smaller stars, I incorporated a star-and-line element from the stamp set to add visual interest. I paired it with a sentiment from the Birthday Blitz Stamp Set, stamping it in red beneath the black line for a cohesive layered look. This card demonstrates how easily you can mix and match stamps from your stash to create unique designs.

To finish the cards, I framed each panel using the A2 Postage Rectangle Dies. Two panels were adhered using liquid glue, while the third panel was layered with foam tape for added dimension. All panels were then attached to white top-folding A2 card bases, keeping the overall design clean and polished.

I’m so happy with how these three cards turned out! The combination of brown, red, and black inks creates a warm and cohesive color palette, while the simple layouts keep the focus on the adorable Highland cows. STAMPtember® is the perfect time to try new products, mix and match stamps from your stash, and find inspiration from the incredible creations shared by talented designers.
