Hello crafty friends,

There is some awesome news that I’ve been waiting to share with you all—something that truly made my creative heart skip a beat. I was recently invited to join the Your Paper Insider (YPI) Design Team for 2025–2026! When I received the confirmation email, I was beyond humbled and incredibly thrilled, especially because this marks the very first YPI design team. Being a part of this milestone is both an honor and an exciting adventure.

For almost two years, I’ve been working with YPI and their curated subscription boxes, and I must say—the quality and variety of their papers are unmatched. Each box feels like opening a gift that sparks endless creative possibilities.

For those of you who might not be familiar, Your Paper Insider is a quarterly paper subscription service that delivers a carefully curated selection of papers straight to your doorstep. Each box includes at least 20 sheets of unique 8.5″ x 11″ papers (and sometimes smaller specialty sizes). These papers are hand-selected—sometimes exotic, often one-of-a-kind—and they’re perfect for writing, painting, printing, folding, card-making, or any other creative passion you can dream up.

What makes YPI so special is the element of surprise. Each subscription box contains a new hand-picked assortment—whether it’s something rare from the archives or a new acquisition waiting to inspire you. Inside, you’ll find everything from bold colored cardstocks to luxurious specialty papers with unique finishes, even fine art papers. It’s like receiving a beautifully wrapped gift from a dear friend—perfect for any paper lover who values quality and creativity.

I couldn’t wait to create my very first project to celebrate this new journey. The team has only just formed, but already the support, warmth, and camaraderie we share feels like home. Naturally, I wanted my project to reflect that feeling—so I created a homely card scene that symbolizes comfort, creativity, and friendship.

For the background, I used the Green With Gold Petals: Yuzenshi Paper from Box 12. Yuzenshi is a traditional Japanese paper crafted to resemble handmade washi. Its soft, slightly textured surface is receptive to printing and design work, making it ideal for crafting. Honestly, the first time I saw this sheet, I wished I had a whole roll of it to use as wallpaper for my craft room—it’s that stunning! Since I couldn’t line my walls with it, I thought, “Why not recreate my vision on a card?”

For the base panel, I reached for the Salzburg Gmund Ever Paper, which has a beautiful, light texture. To bring my “home” scene together, I crafted a little photo frame using the Modern Scrapbook Die Set. I cut the frame from Gold Diamond Glitter Paper for sparkle, and layered it with the Salzburg Gmund Ever Paper as the background.

No cozy home scene is complete without a touch of nature, so I added some delicate autumn leaves using the Autumn Leaves Wafer Dies from Simon Says Stamp’s latest STAMPtember collection. These subtle accents gave the card warmth and charm.

Finally, to tie in my excitement about joining this incredible design team, I stamped the heartfelt sentiment, “I’m so glad we’re friends,” from the Modern Scrapbook Stamp Set. I die-cut it with the coordinating die and mounted everything onto a light green YPI card base for the finishing touch.

This card isn’t just a project—it’s a reflection of my gratitude and joy at being part of the first-ever Your Paper Insider Design Team. YPI has been such a big part of my paper crafting journey, and I can’t wait to share more inspiration, ideas, and projects using their incredible papers.
