Hello crafty friends!

Today, I’m sharing a clean and elegant card design that celebrates the beauty of delicate wings and soft shimmer. Inspired by the light, airy feel of vellum and the richness of purple tones, this project combines texture, sparkle, and graceful color coordination for a truly refined finish.

When it comes to creating wings—whether for butterflies or dragonflies—the Vellum Baby Blue Shimmer paper (Box #1) is always my top choice. Its translucent sheen adds just the right amount of softness, perfectly balanced by the Warm Gold Soft Metallic cardstock (Box #3) used for the body. Together, these create a design that feels both ethereal and sophisticated.

For the background, I wanted to introduce depth through color and texture. I trimmed narrow strips of purple cardstock in varying shades and layered them across the base, mixing in coordinating strips from the Non-shed Glitter Cardstock Assortment Pack for sparkle. To make the background glow even more, I added a subtle accent of Gold Diamond Glitter Cardstock (Box #12)—a simple touch that instantly elevates the overall look with its delicate shimmer.

To tie the design together, I stamped both the floral image and sentiment in purple ink, ensuring that the tones stayed cohesive throughout. The result is a balanced blend of color, shine, and dimension—perfect for any occasion that calls for a little elegance.
