Hello crafty friends! I’m delighted to be joining the fun this week for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #632, where the theme is a beautiful, frosty one: “Let It Snow!” This challenge is the perfect excuse to break out the glitter and cool winter tones. While most winter projects stick to traditional blues, I decided to take a colorful detour and create a snowy scene bursting with vibrant purples and pinks!

To bring a touch of unexpected color to my snowscape, I began by creating a vibrant background using watercolor paper from Your Paper Insider. Instead of traditional paint, I dropped and blended my favorite purple and pink Distress Oxide Ink refills to achieve a gorgeous, intense wash of color.
Once the background was dry, the real magic happened! I used the gorgeous Snowflakes Trio Die from Kat Scrappiness (KS) to cut the watercolor panel, resulting in three stunning, colorful snowflakes ready to anchor my design.

No winter scene is complete without a little sparkle and dimension! For my card base, I chose a shimmery white glitter panel. To avoid a flat look and add subtle texture, I ran this glitter panel through my machine using the Swirling Snow Background Die (also from Kat Scrappiness). This die adds a beautiful, sweeping texture that perfectly mimics falling snow.
I carefully adhered my colorful watercolor snowflakes back into the corresponding openings on the textured glitter panel. For the finishing touch, I stamped my sentiment directly onto the card using the very same shades of purple and pink I used on the background, ensuring a cohesive and vibrant look.
This was such a fun project, proving that a snowy winter theme doesn’t always have to be blue! The combination of the watercolor technique with the texture of the glitter and the fantastic Kat Scrappiness dies brought this icy yet colorful card to life. I hope my project inspires you to add your own unique twist to the “Let It Snow” theme for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #632!
