Hello crafty friends,
Welcome to Day 1 of the Heart to Heart Release Hop. This new release is packed with so many fun products : stamps, dies, embellishments and lots more.
Before we take a look at the cute and adorable card I created for the hop today, I wanted to share something fun. Here’s a chance to win the SSS exclusive and not-yet-released Friend Like You Stamp Set which will get automatically added to your cart that contains any purchase of our Heart to Heart exclusive products. This offer is valid until 1/11 at 11:59 ET or while supplies last.

If you love making cards that tell a story, today’s tutorial is perfect for you! I’m sharing a fun and simple way to use the new Label Slides: Love and Friendship stamp set from Simon Says Stamp along with the adorable Cute Camper critters. This card is all about combining sentiments and tiny characters to create a charming scene that feels personal and playful. You don’t need complicated techniques—just a little creativity and some simple coloring!

I started by stamping the sentiments from the Label Slides set onto a 4 x 5¼-inch panel with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, stamping twice for crisp impressions. Using a grid sheet, I arranged multiple phrases so they read like a story: “Hey Bestie… lucky to have you… our bond is a gift.”
Next, I stamped and die cut three critters from the Cute Camper set along with the campfire and colored them simply with Ohuhu alcohol markers—two to three shades per color. The marshmallow critter became a soft gray cat, and the mug-holding critter reminded me of a little fox. I prefer die cutting first and coloring afterward to avoid alignment issues.

For the background, I softly blended Perfection Shade for the green ground and Twilight for the sky, adding a touch of black at the top to suggest nightfall. I kept it subtle to keep the sentiments and critters as the focus. To add dimension, I used thin foam circles behind each critter, then adhered the panel to a top-folding A2 card base with more foam tape. Finally, I added three black dots near the sentiments and highlights on the critters and campfire with a white gel pen—small details that really bring the scene to life.

And just like that, our storytelling card is complete! From the layered sentiments to the tiny critters and soft blended background, every detail comes together to create a charming and heartfelt design. I hope this tutorial inspires you to try your own story cards—using stamps, dies, and a little creativity, you can make something truly special.
