I usually lean toward florals and pinks when I craft, but sometimes it’s fun to switch things up and make something a little more masculine. Recently, I decided to create a card for my husband’s birthday—a little tribute to his love of cars and long drives. I wanted it to feel playful, personal, and just a bit different from my usual style.
To bring the card to life, I used the “Rocket Car Little Dude” digi stamp by Polkadoodles Crafts and colored it with my Ohuhu alcohol markers. I love how these markers blend, making the little guy really pop on the page.

For the background, I went for something rustic but clean—a brick wall from the same digi stamp set. I grounded my little car and driver on a simple strip of white cardstock to keep the focus on them.
The sentiment was the fun finishing touch. I decided on a speech bubble style, printing and die-cutting the sentiment to make it feel like the little guy was saying it himself. It added a playful, personal touch that made the card feel complete.

This project was a fun reminder that stepping out of my usual pink-and-floral comfort zone can lead to something special. I hope it inspires you to mix things up in your own card-making, too!
