Cozy Living Room Scene | Your Paper Insider March Hop – Home

Welcome to the Your Paper Insider March Hop! I am so excited to share a project that is all about texture, pattern, and the tactile joy of high-quality papers.

For this hop, I was completely captivated by the Dusty Rose Yuzenshi Chiyogami Paper. It has an almost wallpaper-like quality that immediately made me want to design a warm, cozy living room scene.

I started by setting the stage for my room. The Chiyogami served as my “wallpaper,” providing a rich, patterned backdrop. To ground the scene, I used Environment Honeycomb Cardstock for both the flooring and the trim, creating a seamless transition between the floor and the walls.

No living room is complete without a bit of nature! I brought in some floral elements using a mix of unique textures:

The Flower Pot: I used the shiny Blue Moon Cocktail Paper. What impressed me most about this paper is its weight; it is thick enough to run through a 3D embossing folder with ease. Even with deep texture, there was absolutely no cracking or warping!
The Blooms: To keep the pink theme consistent, I chose Dahlia Colorwheel Spellbinders Cardstock for the petals and Beeswax Colorwheel Spellbinders Cardstock for the flower centers.

To make the room feel lived-in, I “hung” a small picture frame on my Chiyogami wall. I used Bright Gold Colorwheel Cardstock to give the frame a metallic pop, and for the “art” inside, I went with Party Confetti Chunky Glitter Cardstock. It adds the perfect amount of sparkle and playfulness to the scene!
