Hello crafty friends,
Today, I’m excited to share a fun and vibrant birthday card featuring one of my favorite color combinations. I’ve ink blended pink and orange on a floral embossed card front, paired with a simple stamped greeting and some sparkly gems to add the perfect finishing touch. This card is part of the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #615, which hosts bi-weekly challenges with creative themes. This week, we’re diving into a color challenge that asks you to use pink, orange, and white on your projects. Be sure to tag your creations on the CIC Instagram page—we’d love to see what you make!
Let’s take a close look at the card that I created for this challenge.

For this card, I started by using a beautiful floral embossing folder – the Blossom Swag Embossing Folder by Simon Says Stamp. This is one of my absolute favorites because it’s not only perfect for creating stunning ink-blended looks but also works beautifully for blackout techniques. The best part about this embossing folder is that it leaves enough space in the center of the detailed floral design to stamp a sentiment, making it so versatile for different occasions.

To create the perfect ink blend, I reached for the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Pucker, Blush, Grapefruit, Sweets, and Taffy. These colors blend seamlessly together, giving the ideal combination of pinks and oranges that I adore.
Since birthday cards are always in high demand, I like to have a stash of them ready for friends and family. For the sentiment, I used the Happy Birthday stamp from the Celestial Wishes Stamp Set (which was part of a previous SSS Card Kit). I absolutely love the font of this sentiment—it’s bold and elegant! I stamped it using Versafine Onyx Black ink to get a crisp and clean impression.

To add a bit of shine and elegance to the card front, I swiped the Altenew Rose Gold Pigment Ink Pad over the raised portions of the embossed design. I made sure to use a light hand so that only the raised areas picked up the ink, ensuring the flat surface remained clean and crisp.

To complete the card, I added some SSS Pastel Tones Dazzling Gems in shades of pink and orange. These gems added just the right amount of sparkle and shine, perfectly complementing the ink-blended background.
I’m so pleased with how this card turned out! It’s such a simple yet stunning design that can easily be mass-produced in a variety of colors, making it a great go-to card for any occasion. I can already imagine creating a whole set of these in different hues for birthdays, anniversaries, or just because!
