Hello crafty friends,
Welcome back to another floral card that I created as part of the AECP Level 2 assignment project. As much as I love stamping and ink blending, my latest obsession is Watercolors. I have created multiple projects where I am trying my hands on watercoloring and I must say, I am loving it. Watercoloring is such a forgiving technique. You can never go wrong with your water colors.
Let’s take a closer look at the card that I created by combining some fun tips and tricks that learnt during the Creative Watercolor Media Session.

I started by stamping this beautiful floral image from the Build a Garden : Nature’s Magic Stamp Set by Altenew. This stamp set also comes with a coordinating stencil. I stamped the image using the SSS Clear Embossing Ink and heat set it with some SSS Fine Gold Embossing Powder. I like to use the Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper for any watercolor projects.
I like to heat emboss the images before using watercolors, since I feel that creates a well for my watercolors, so that they don’t go outside the stamped lines.

For coloring this image, instead of using my regular watercolors, I decided to get a little creative and used some of my reinkers. I used the Picked Raspberry Distress Ink Refill to add this bright pink to my floral image. This is such a fun way to use up all those beautiful Inks. For the leaves on this floral arrangement, I used the Mister Huey’s Color Mist in the shade Seafoam. I also smooshed some of the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in the shade Seafoam to add some depth to the green.

Using ink pads to create a beautiful watercolor pallet is a fun technique to add some beautiful shade and depth to your colors.
Once the colors dried, I heat embossed the “Big Hugs” sentiment from the Flourishing Garden Outline Stamp Set using the same Gold Embossing Powder.

To add a touch of sparkle on this simple and beautiful card front, I used the Gold Hologram Sequin Mix by This Calls For Confetti.
I love how this card turned out. I would love to try this technique of using products other than your traditional watercolors to create some beautiful projects.
Also, a big thank you to the creators at Altenew for all the wonderful classes and tips and tricks to create beautiful projects.
The Altenew Educator Certification Program is definitely a best opportunity to showcase my work and get in touch with all of the amazing crafters.
