Hello crafty friends,

If you are looking for some bright colors and textures, I have a card just for you. While I prefer creating CAS cards with simple focal points, once in awhile, I do like to go with some really fun bold colors. As for my project to is inspired by the lessons taught by Nina Marie Tripani in her class on Polychromatic where she talks about having fun with colors.

For my card today, I used a beautiful embossing folder along with coordinating stencils which made my work a lot more easier with all the bright and fun colors that I used to create my card.

Here’s a closer look at the card that I created today –

I started by embossing a white A2 size panel using the Sixties Sunshine 3D Embossing folder. I love the very clean and simple looking florals on this embossing folder.

This stencil came with a coordinating stencil, which made my work so much more easier.

The Sixties Sunshine Stencils is a set of 3 stencils, perfect to coloring in the petals and the center of the flowers. I decided to go with some bright pinks and purples for the petals on my flowers. I used the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in the shade Amethyst and Peony for the petals, which I thought complimented each other so very well.

For the centers of my flowers I went with some yellows and oranges. I used Citrine to fully cover the centers of the flowers and using the Pucker shade I added some depth to these centers.

For my sentiment, I went with 2 different stamp sets using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I stamped the simple “Happy Birthday!” from the Dainty Flowers Stamp Set. I love the simple font on this sentiment. For my sub-sentiment, I stamped the word “friend” from the Flourishing Garden Stamp Set and die cut it using the coordinating die. I swiped some of the Amethyst Ink on both of these sentiment strips.

Be it fun and textured or clean and simple, my cards are never complete without some bling. I used the Prism Pawsitively Dazzling Gems on the card front for a touch of sparkle.

Here’s a closer look at the finished card. I love how this card turned out. I definitely plan on recreating this design using a variety of different colors. This would be perfect for so many different occasions too.
