Hello crafty friends,
For the very first time, I tried some no line coloring, creating beautiful details on my floral image. This card was inspired by all the fun techniques that Marika Rahtu shared in her Beautiful Details Class.
I wanted to create a very clean and simple sympathy card. I tried have some really subtle colors on my floral focal point. I used the Flourishing Garden Outline Stamp for the main focal point.
Here’s a closer look at the card that I created today –

I started by stamping this beautiful floral image onto a sheet of watercolor cardstock. I stamped it using a very light SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in the shade Melon, since I was planning on using some light orange for my flowers.
This is the very first time I tired the no line coloring technique using some beautiful watercolors.
The Flourishing Garden Outline Stamp Set has a very big focal point. For my card, I decided to cut this into half and use the rest on another project.

It may not be perfect, but I had a very good time coloring this image. I used the colors from the Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers – Spring Garden Set. For the flower, I used Autumn Blaze and for my leaves, I used Moss. For the flower centers, I added dots of the Evening Gray shade.
I started by adding a line of the color on one edge of the petals and then using a wet paint brush, I pulled the colors inside the petals. I did the same thing for my leaves as well.

Then I used the coordinating die to cut this colored piece.
Before I adhered this onto the card base, I wanted to add some color to my panel. I used the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in the shade Surf to lightly blend onto the lower half of an A2 size panel. I love how beautifully this color complements the light orange on my floral image.
Once I was done ink blending, I added some water platters to give a beautiful texture to our background.

Then I stamped the “You are in my prayers” sentiment form the Flourishing Garden Outline Stamp Set. I really love the font on this sentiment. This card design would not just be perfect for a sympathy card, but you could use any sentiment from this stamp set for a beautiful card front.
Now that my background is ink blended and has the sentiment, it was time to adhere the water colored focal point. I decided to pop up this floral die cut image using some thin foam dots. I love the subtle look on this card. The colors are so calming.

To match with the water splatters, I added some Ice Ice Baby Enamel Dots by Kat Scrappiness, giving a dew drops effect on this background. I finished off the card by adding a hint of sparkle on the flower and leaves using Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush Pen.

I love how this card turned out and thanks to Marika Rahtu, I am now planning on adding such details and experimenting with some no line watercolors for my future projects too.
The Altenew Educator Certification Program is definitely a best opportunity to showcase my work and get in touch with all of the amazing crafters.
