Hello crafty friends,

I created a fun and colorful card using my favorite color combinations of Pinks and Purples. I have a beautiful hearts stenciled background paired with an adorable stamped and die cut unicorn and a little sentiment strip, perfect Valentine’s card for your dear friend. Don’t miss the big heart which acts as a base for my focal point.

Here’s a look at the card I created using some fun colors –

I began with the stenciled background. I used the Falling In Love Stencil, which was part of the To Love Release by Simon Says Stamp. I used the SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in the shade Taffy, Guava, Amethyst and Iris to ink blend on this stencil.

I love the purple-pink color combination. Once I was done with the ink blending, I kept the stencil as is, and sprayed the entire panel with a sparkly shimmer mist and then carefully removed the stencil. The shine and sparkle on those hearts is absolutely mesmerizing.

Next, I wanted a very cute and adorable focal point for my card front. I chose a little unicorn from the It’s Your Birthday Stamp Set by SSS. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers. I do not have the coordinating dies for this stamp set, so I used my Brother Scan n Cut machine to cut out this image. I added some white highlights on the unicorn using my white gel pen.

For my sentiment, I stamped “So lucky to have a friend like you ” sentiment from the Quokka Love Stamp Set onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed it using Wow White Embossing Powder.

I wanted my focal point to show up well over that busy, bright background. So I decided to use a beautiful, almost feather/fabric like sheet from Your Paper Inside. I love the texture on this sheet.
