Hello crafty friends,
Welcome to Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp You Are My Favorite Blog Hop! This exciting new release is brimming with creativity—from playful stamps and coordinating dies to gorgeous layering stencils, fun papers and eye-catching embellishments.
Before I dive into the project I created for today’s hop, I’ve got a little giveaway news to share! For a limited time, when you spend $30 or more on items from the You Are My Favorite release, you’ll receive the Sunny Fern Emboss and Cut Folder for free—automatically added to your cart. This offer is good through April 27th at 11:59pm ET, or while supplies last.

Now, let’s take a look at the cards I created for today’s blog hop! I kept things clean and simple with two elegant birthday cards using the Big Botanical Stamp Set. This beautiful set includes two large floral images—a hyacinth and a tulip—along with a delicate butterfly and dragonfly, all illustrated in a timeless etched style.

I went with a one-layer card design, which not only came together quickly but is also perfect for mass-producing. These make thoughtful and easy-to-create gift sets for family and friends!
For both cards, I started by stamping the floral images onto A2-sized white card panels, allowing the florals to really shine as the main focal points of the design.

On the first card, I chose the hyacinth and stamped it using Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks in the shades Violet and Orchid. To keep the colors clean and crisp, I masked off the stem before inking to avoid getting any purple on it.

Next, I masked off the flower and inked up the stem using two shades of green—Limelicious and Pearfection—to add a natural, soft gradient effect. Once the floral focal point was complete, I added the sentiment “Birthday Wishes to You” from the same stamp set, stamping it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink for a crisp, bold finish.

I intentionally let part of the sentiment slightly overlap the floral image, which I think adds a nice visual connection and helps tie the entire card front together beautifully.
For Card #2, I followed the same simple and effective technique—starting with a striking floral focal point and finishing with a sentiment.

This time, I chose the gorgeous tulip and stamped it slightly off-center, toward the left side of an A2 white card panel. The color inspiration actually came from a recent trip to a tulip farm, where I spotted the most vibrant blooms! To capture that look, I blended SSS Pawsitively Saturated Inks in the shades Punch and Zest, which added a lovely touch of detail and depth to the flower.

Once the floral focal point was complete, I added the sentiment “Have the Happiest Birthday” from the same stamp set, stamping it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink for a crisp, bold finish.

To finish off both cards, I added a touch of texture and interest with black watercolor splatters across the card fronts. I made sure to mask off the sentiment areas beforehand to keep them clean and crisp.
I absolutely love how these cards turned out—simple, elegant, and so easy to put together! This was such a fun and quick project, and I can definitely see myself creating more of these in a variety of color combinations and swapping out sentiments to build a beautiful gift set.
