There’s something so special about creating handmade cards for Father’s Day—and this time, I couldn’t resist bringing in a little humor and charm with the cutest chef gnome!
For today’s card, I used the BBQ Chef Gnome for Men Digi Stamp, and honestly… just look at him grilling up something yummy! It instantly sets such a fun and playful tone for a Father’s Day project.
I started by printing the image onto white cardstock and colored it using my Ohuhu alcohol markers. I love how vibrant and smooth these markers blend—they really help bring characters like this to life. From his little chef hat to all those tiny details, coloring this image was such a relaxing and enjoyable process.
To build the scene, I also printed a few coordinating sentiments from the Gnome Men Sentiment Digi Stamp set. These sentiments are perfect for adding personality and tying the whole theme together. I placed them alongside the gnome to create a fun little grilling moment right on the card front.
For the panel, I used a postage-style die to cut out my main image. I absolutely love the subtle texture and detail that postage dies add—it gives the card that extra something without overwhelming the design.
I then layered this panel over a striped patterned paper from the Gnome Dad Men/Father Digi Paper Pad. The stripes add just the right amount of background interest while still letting our adorable chef gnome take center stage.
Everything came together so beautifully for a card that feels playful, warm, and perfect for celebrating the dads (or grill masters!) in our lives.
