For today’s project, I wanted to showcase the effortless charm of pre-colored digital illustrations by featuring the Butterfly Flowerpots design from Polkadoodles, a versatile piece whose dreamy, ethereal watercolor wash makes it ideal for celebrating any special occasion.

To infuse the pre-rendered artwork with a truly bespoke, handmade essence, I printed the digital stamp directly onto heavy watercolor cardstock, which allowed me to effortlessly build upon the scene with subtle, personal watercolor glazes that deepened the shadows and accentuated the delicate contours of the potted blooms and fluttering butterfly. Once the wet pigment had completely settled and dried, I introduced a touch of dynamic texture by hand-applying a sparkling glitter mix across the butterfly’s wings, the gentle flower petals, and selected highlights of the terracotta pots, lending an enchanting, light-catching shimmer to the finished piece.

To complete the clean and cheerful design, I paired the focal illustration with a crisp “Sending Birthday Wishes” sentiment printed from the Alcea Hollyhock Flowers digi stamp bundle, before matting the entire textured panel onto a coordinating blush-pink card base for a polished, celebratory presentation.
